Powerful Skin Care Benefits of Organic Damask Rose Essential Oil

Essential oil of Damascene Rose is one of nature's most incredibly healing plants.  This rose is, according to recent fossil evidence, about 35 million years old.  The genus Rosa has about 150 species found all around the world, including in northern Africa.  Garden cultivation of roses began some 5,000 years ago, most likely in China.  Damascene Rose, however, originated in Bulgaria, and is extensively cultivated there today for its precious essential oil.

Roses were in very high demand during the 17th century, and the royal families even considered roses or rose water to be legal tende.  The wife of Napoleon, Josephine, was known for having an extensive collection of roses at Chateau de Malmaison, an estate seven miles west of Paris in the 1800s.  The rose is often used to represent the Virgin Mary and has been historically considered as sacred to a number of goddesses.

Organic Damascene Rose essential oil has been recently scientifically proven to increase the energy vibration of every cell in the body, restoring balance and harmony.  The approximate weight of essential oil extracted from the flower petals is only about one three-thousandth to one six-thousandth of the weight of the flowers, i.e., approximately 2,000 flowers are required to produce one gram of oil.  This well illustrates the relative expense of this healing oil.

This oil is known for its many natural beneficial properties, including anti-depressant, antiseptic, anti-spasmodic, bactericidal (kills Strep, Staph, E. Coli, Anthrax, and Diphtheria.)  Organic Damask Rose Oil’s innate healing power comes from its complexity.  It contains more than 300 organic compounds, and so it is definitely one of the most complex organic phyto-chemicals on earth.  This is why the oil is often referred to as  Nature’s universal healer.  There are absolutely no natural limits in its ability to tone, heal and balance the skin.  It is non-toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitizing and well-tolerated by all skin types.

This highly-energized organic composition of essential oil of Damask Rose renders it highly effective in  treating aging, dry, and damaged skin.  It also tones the skin to reduce overly-active skin sebum secretion that can cause acne and enlarged pores.   Organic Damask Rose essential oil’s natural toning and astringent properties became well known in the 18th century and was used at that time as the base oil for many healing tonics.  Its unique skin toning abilities can actually produce a healthy and radiant complexion in just a few seconds.  This healing powerhouse also has properties that reduce inflammation and skin redness, repair broken capillaries and is even effective in treating eczema and other common skin disorders.

As scientists continue their study of this rare and complex rose essential oil, they have found that it contains, as noted above, an incredible density of over 300 naturally-occuring compounds.  Even more, they found nearly every chemical compound found in Mendeleev’s periodic table! This myriad of organic healing  compounds attests for the many healing abilities of this essential oil.

As part of an organic, wholistic healing approach to skin care, it is recommended that we "connect" with positively-charged energies as much as possible- in our diet, the air we breathe and in what we absorb into our bodies. Taking in as much good energy as possible is vital to maintaining our energy level and health.  It has also been scientifically proven in recent years that the higher the energy vibration level in the body, the healthier the skin and body become.  Incredibly, Organic Damask Rose Oil has been found to emanate the highest energy vibration of all known oils.  - More on this in Part II of this Blog Post!

Prevent Breast Cancer- G-BOMBS Revisited, Part I

Much recent research has proven that we can absolutely prevent breast cancer by making healthy life-style choices, including practicing daily meditation, exercising daily and replacing toxic foods with the powerful immune system-boosting foods, "G-BOMBS."  These vegetables, or "plant foods," have been the focus of many scientific studies and have been shown to help to avert the transformation of normal cells to cancer. In addition, they protect against any pre-cancerous or cancerous cells that can form.

What are G-BOMBS?  They are Greens, Beans, Onions, Mushrooms, Berries and Seeds!  Sound yummy? Acutally, these are the vegetables / plant foods with the strongest immune-boosting and anti-cancer effects.

Greens-  the cruciferous vegetables- like arugula, broccoli, bok choy, kale, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, collards, mustard greens, radish, turnip and turnip greens, to name a few, are the best kinds of greens to eat for cancer prevention.  They contain anti-cancer compounds and substances that guard blood vessels; they also increase healthy vision and reduce the risk of diabetes.  Regular consumption of cruciferous vegetables that contain these cancer-averting  phytochemicals has been linked with decreased risk of breast cancer and has even been shown to increase survival in women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Beans- are an especially good food, due to their very high levels of fiber and "resistant starch," i.e., carbohydrates not broken down by digestive enzymes. The fiber and resistant starch in beans reduces the total amount of calories absorbed from beans, decrease cholesterol levels and healthy gut bacteria convert them into many compounds that protect against colon cancer.  A recent analysis of 10 separate studies found that the higher the fiber intake of an individual, the lower the associated risk of breast cancer.

Onions- and their "relatives," -leeks, garlic, shallots, chives, and scallions-  have many beneficial effects on the immune and cardiovascular systems.  They also have anti-diabetic and anti-cancer effects.  These plant foods are well known for their organosulfur compounds.  These phytochemicals retard tumor growth and kill cancer cells.  Regularly eating onions and garlic is definitely associated with reduced risk of digestive cancers as well.

Being Peaceful is a Decision

"The will of God is peace....When we know peace, we become peaceful." - Ernest Holmes

Creating peace in our lives is a decision.  Our self-will and the need to control situations, people and things around us are roadblocks to being peaceful.  Our anxieties will leave us, if we choose to rely on Spirit to guide our lives.

Most of us have heard the expression, "Do you want to be right, or do you want to be happy?"  What we think is right may or may not be the best thing in any given situation.   If we are consumed with the need to be right, to the point of forcing a solution, chances are we are not at peace.  Recent studies have shown that it is much better for our overall health and well-being if we are able to make the choice for peace, rather than inner- or outer- struggle.

Having to have things our way causes a lot of stress, and we are the recipients of that stress.  Instead, we can be at peace every moment we breathe, if that is what we desire and choose.  We can be blessed with good health, emotional well-being and peace every time we remember that we can turn to a loving Spirit for guidance and support.

Prep. Time: 10 Minutes

Use All Organic Ingredients:
1/3 cup Old Fashioned or Steel Cut Oats
2/3 cup water
2 Apples, peeled, cored, and diced
1/4 tsp ground Ceylon Cinnamon (see note)
2 pitted Dates, finely chopped
2 tbs chopped Walnuts
1/4 tsp Organic Vanilla extract

Prepare:
Place oats and water in small pot and bring to gentle boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.

Stir in apples, ground cinnamon, and chopped dates.  Mix in additional water if desired to adjust consistency. When oatmeal and apples are heated through, remove from heat and add stir in walnuts and vanilla.

Note: Ceylon cinnamon is know as "true cinnamon". What is commonly found in the United States is Cassia cinnamon, a closely related and less expensive variety. Ceylon cinnamon is preferable because the Cassia variety contains high levels of coumarin, a naturally occurring substance which has the potential to damage the liver in high doses. The Ceylon variety contains only traces of courmarin.

Simple Changes to Help Prevent Breast Cancer

We want to give everyone a big boost to their natural, organic beauty and inner organic healer and to help you improve your overall health.  Please Share this Post with all you love and care about!

Most women are very concerned about breast cancer.  Most people know that October is traditionally "Breast Cancer Awareness Month," as well.  What they may not know, however, is that recent scientific findings can give them the information necessary to avoid breast cancer entirely, rather than to just be aware of it.  Below we have summarized some of these scientific findings specifically related to nutrition and breast cancer, as well as what you can do to avoid this deadly disease:

·  Eat a diet rich in greens, beans, onions, mushrooms, berries and seeds- these all contain natural anti-cancer compounds. A vegetable-based diet rich in mushrooms, cruciferous vegetables and flax and chia seeds that contain phytochemicals with anti-estrogenic properties can help to fight Breast Cancer in particular.

·  Stay slim- Obesity is a highly significant risk factor for Breast Cancer. The American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) estimates that 17% of breast cancers are due to excess weight alone, and women who are obese when diagnosed are more at risk to die from breast cancer.
·  Avoid junk food- like fast foods and refined foods such as white flour and sugary sweets. High-glycemic foods Frequent cause high insulin levels are thought to promote growth and division of cancerous cells, and so also  women with Diabetes are 20% more likely to develop Breast Cancer.

·  Do not take synthetic folic acid in supplements and vitamin-fortified refined foods. Synthetic folic acid is in fact associated with increased risk of Breast cancer.  Natural food folates are chemically different from synthetic folic acid, and are instead associated with decreased risk of developing breast cancer.

·  Minimize your family’s exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs)- Synthetic chemicals that mimic, inhibit or alter the action of the body’s natural hormones. It's easy to come into contact with them daily in the form of plastics, organochlorine pesticides, cosmetics, fuels, and other chemicals. It is thought that EDC exposure contributes to risk of hormone-associated cancers.  They are especially problematic when exposure occurs pregnancy, childhood or puberty.

·  Do not eat mass factory-farmed meats or dairy and minimize animal foods in general- These foods come from animals that are regularly given antibiotics and growth-promoting hormones, and environmental pollutants also build up in their fatty tissues.  All animal protein (especially dairy) elevates blood levels of IGF-1, a hormone that has been associated with increased risk of several cancers, including Breast Cancer, according to many recently published studies.

Organic Rosemary Essential Oil Benefits in Skin Care

Essential oil of organic Rosemary has been highly regarded since ancient times for its many skin healing and purifying properties.  Rosemary essential oil happens to have the highest hydrogen content of all the essential oils, which gives it warming and stimulating effects.  This herb increases circulation, and so contributes to healthier skin.  These benefits bring an improved complexion by enabling nutrients in the bloodstream to more easily reach the skin, while also removing waste products and toxins.  Organic Rosemary oil is well known for toning and firming the skin by reducing swelling and puffiness.

This ability to improve skin tone and firmness makes it an excellent organic ingredient for use in anti-aging skin care products.  Essential Oil of Rosemary is also astringent, and so it helps the skin and hair to rid itself of excess oil.  In addition, the oil has effective disinfectant and antibiotic properties that are excellent for use in  treating acne, dermatitis and eczema.  The fresh, invigorating scent and many nourishing properties of this essential oil make it a great addition to organic skin care treatments for acne, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, and sun damaged skin.  It is also effective when used in skin care products designed to ease the appearance of cellulite.

Organic Rosemary essential oil is also quite effective in treating psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema and other common skin problems, due to its ability to regenerate skin and heal wounds.  These types of chronic skin disorders tend to respond well to the healing properties of rosemary essential oil.  Another surprise benefit is that skin plagued by acne often begins to heal with an application of this organic oil.  Its astringent and antibiotic properties also help to heal the skin by fighting infection and promoting glandular balance.

Does Organic Honey Have Anti-Aging Benefits for Skin?

Organic honey is well-known as an all-natural humectant- it attracts and helps retain skin moisture, so it's a great natural choice for hydrating skin.  Choosing organic skin care products that contain honey can be very  beneficial to dry and itchy skin, because it really increases moisture in the skin.  Oily complexions are helped by honey as well, due to it's ability to retain skin moisture and elasticity without drying, as do more common skin care products that contain drying and potentially harmful chemicals.

A naturally potent antioxidant, organic honey is also beneficial when taken internally.  Yet it has powerfully protective benefits when used topically on the skin either by itself or contained within an organic skin care regimen.  Antioxidants are Nature's free-radical-fighting powerhouses, and they are plentiful in honey.  Additionally, recent research has shown the effectiveness of organic honey when used as a natural suncreen.  It protects skin from sun damage that causes premature aging and wrinkles and can be a precursor to skin cancer.

Honey also has powerful, natural anti-septic and anti-bacterial properties!  So it's an excellent all-natural facial and body cleanser that detoxes and purifies your complexion, and leaves it  moisturized and smooth.  Delicious, all-natural honey is also a natural soother of skin.  It's a wonderful skin-calming treat for everyone, but even more beneficial for acne sufferers and  people with extra-sensitive or problem skin.

Accepting Responsibility Brings Happiness!

"Birds sing after a storm, why shouldn't people feel as free to delight in whatever remains to them? - Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy

We can choose how we feel, and the actions we take, every day.  We can choose to feel sad or happy, fearful or content, unsure or confident.  We make choices in every moment, whether consciously or unconsciously.  We can learn to be more conscious about choosing our mood and empower ourselves in the process.

We truly begin to mature emotionally and mentally when we can accept full responsibility for our actions, our thinking and emotions.  This may not seem like a simple task, but it is definitely possible, and it beomes easier with practice.  When we accept responsibility, we begin to feel more personally empowered.  How wonderful to find out that the ability to change our attitude to one of gratitude, to have a feeling of contentment and well-being  are all within our power!

When we accept responsibility for our emotions, thinking and actions, we need no longer be "victims" of whatever life brings on a given day.  We are able to seek and find the positive in any situation.  Even difficult situations contain within them valuable insight into our thinking and behavior, if we can be open-minded to new opportunities are being presented to us.

The responses we choose to have to these situations- or opportunities- determine our emotional outlook.  We are then empowered by being aware of the choices we make.  We will feel more in control of our outlook on life.  This renewed sense of self-confidence will in turn generate more feelings of happiness and excitement about the life we choose to have!

Heal Your Relationships- Make Conscious Choices

"Most of us, as a result of conditioning, have repetitious and predictable responses to the stimuli in our environment.  Our reactions seem to be automatically triggered by people and circumstances, and we forget that these are still choices that we are making in every moment of our existence.  We are simply making these choices unconsciously...."

"There is only one choice, out of the infinity of choices available in every second, that will create happiness for you as well as for those around you.... it will result in a form of behavior that is called 'spontaneous right action'...the right action at the right moment.  It's the right response to every situation as it happens....that nourishes you and everyone else who is influenced by that action." - Dr. Deepak Chopra

Many of us have experienced feeling embarrassed or surprised by having an "automatic" reaction to something someone in our lives has said or done.  Hearing our friends or loved ones say something like, "I couldn't believe it, I knew that was the wrong thing to say (or do) when I was saying (or doing) it, but it just flew right out of my mouth!"  We often seem to believe that we simply cannot control some of our reactions to people, places and situations that arise in our daily interactions.

Fortunately, there is a simple process  that we can learn that will bring these "unconscious" reactions of ours more to the level of our conscious thought.  That process is known as "pausing."  Simply pausing for a moment when we are conscious of feeling uncomfortable in any conversation or interaction with those around us, is actually very empowering!

Stepping back for a moment, taking a breath and thinking about whether or not if what we want to say or do next will bring happiness to us and to those involved gives us back our power.  Pausing will actually give us the time we need to ask in our hearts, "What is the next right thing to do, or say, in this situation?  Will it bring happiness to the situation, or will it do harm?"  Our hearts will always provide the correct answers.

Taking a moment to pause, take a breath and ask our hearts for guidance is a simple discipline that we can practice the next time we find ourselves in an uncomfortable situation.  The more we practice this form of empowerment, the more we will remember to do it in all of our daily interactions with those we love and encounter in our world.  The more we are able to think and choose how to "respond" rather than "react" to others, the more we will actually take responsibility for our own behavior.

This profound change in our thinking can only help to improve and heal our relationships with those around us.  It will make our lives happier, as well.  Try practicing "pausing," rather than reacting, as often as you remember to in your day for one week, and see how much better you will feel about yourself and your relationships!

Anti-Aging Skin Care Bonuses of Organic Palm Oil- Part II

In Part I of this Blog Post, we talked about how toctrienols have been proven to be very effective in preventing aging and damage from free radicals.  In addition, the natural amounts of Vitamin E in Organic Palm Oil is very high.  Recent studies in Malaysia have shown it to be a strong and effective treatment for common skin complaints like acne, eczema and dermatitis.
Vitamin E is also a powerful anti-oxidant, and is used in many natural skin care products for that reason.  It easily destroys free radicals generated in the environment.  Some of these free radicals include those made by pesticides, UV radiation, traffic fumes and pollution.

Surprisingly, and more than likely, the most powerful benefit of using Organic Palm Oil in skin care is that toctrienols have been found to be effective in prevention of skin cancers!  Skin lipids can be damaged or oxidized by ozone exposure, which then can cause free-radicals to be generated in our skin. Organic Palm oil not only fights free-radicals, it can also prevent them from occuring in the first place.

Research has shown that Oxidation of lipids in the skin causing free-radicals is an underlying cause of many skin diseases, including skin cancers.  According to Dr. Betty Kamen, PhD, toctrienols have been proven to be 40-60 times more effective than common tocopherols in preventing lipid pre-oxidation, and so also that more powerful in preventing skin cancers.

All these positive botanical health benefits for your skin aside, Organic Palm oil is simply a great  moisturizer that gives you smoother skin, and also fights visible signs of aging! It's very simple to incorporate into daily skin care- as simple as using an organic soap or moisturizer that contains it.  Choosing all these powerful, natural, organic skin care bonuses can't help but benefit your skin!
